There are two basic categories of ammunition, arrows (or arrows) and bolts (or darts), both of which can be placed in the ammunition / Light source slot in your Inventory. They are different in some characteristics that we will know better soon, however the most striking is that each ammunition can be used by a certain type of weapon, the bows (or bows) and crossbows (or crossbows).
The characteristics they both share are ranged attack, meaning you will be able to attack your enemies without being leaning against them. Let's take Arbalest as an example, which has a range of 6, so it is possible to reach your enemies 6 SQMs away.
Arrows
Arrows are known for their lightness and precision. Together with the bonuses of some Bows , such as Umbral Master Bow , they end up being so precise that it will be rare to miss their targets. Arrows do not have as much attack power as bolts, however if you have a good bow, your accuracy will suppress the low attack defect and it is sometimes possible to have a better average damage with arrows. Anyway, due to their lightness, hunting with arrows can be longer than with bolts.
The best arrow is Crystalline Arrow, while the best bows are Umbral Master Bow and Rift Bow.
Bolts in turn are heavier and have a greater attack. In general, Crossbows have an attack bonus, which will cause their attacks to do impressive damage. An experienced paladin using Spectral Bolts and an Umbral Master Crossbow can deal more than 1300 damage in a single attack. However, the great defect of the bolts is the lack of precision, in this way, some attacks will fail, which ends up balancing their greater attack power.
The best bolt is the Spectral Bolt , followed by the Infernal Bolt , but due to their limitations such as level, rarity and the need to cast, more experienced players often use Prismatic Bolts . The most famous beasts are: Umbral Master Crossbow , Thorn Spitter and The Devileye , the latter having an incredible bonus of +20 attack points, but with the terrible -20% disadvantage for the chance of hit.
These items serve to defend your character, they have varying levels of defense. A complete set of equipment, also known as a set, consists of a helmet, armor, a shield or a spellbook, a boot and pants.
